About Us

Jeremy Stone is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) who trained and qualified at the Banbury office of what is now Grant Thornton. He came to the West-country in 1975 to join what is now KPMG at their Plymouth office. Promoted four times in three years he then left to join a sole practitioner in Tavistock in 1978. That practice now has four partners with a turnover in excess of £1.6m.

Jeremy believes his main strengths are:
1.	The ability to think outside the box
2.	The belief that an accountancy practice should be run as a business
3.	Knowledge and practical experience of best of breed software and IT solutions for accounting practices

AbacusABS has been formed to assist practices:
	to grow at a faster rate than that being achieved
	to kick-start growth and profitability where the owners are not content with the results being achieved
	to devise strategic solutions for problem areas such as:
		Practice assurance issues and systems
		Staff shortages and devising a better way
		Lack of experience with potential areas (such as added value work) that the owners may wish to explore
		The introduction or enhancement of IT systems to make the practice more efficient
		Retirement and succession issues including grooming a business for sale or merger
